After you request a ride, dispatch reviews the information you provided and confirms your request. The team finds the polling location assigned to your address and provides the relevant polling hours. Check that your name, phone number, pickup address, polling place, and requested time are correct.

The day before Election Day, Ride to the Polls sends a reminder. Use it to review your trip and report any changes before your scheduled pickup.

Check:

Your pickup address

Your polling place

Your expected pickup window

The phone number dispatch should use

Whether another person is riding with you

Any wheelchair, walker, cane, service animal, or mobility need

Whether you need transportation home after voting

If anything is incorrect, call 833-603-8683. Dispatch can respond more effectively when it receives the updated information before the scheduled pickup.

If you requested transportation for a parent, spouse, neighbor, or another voter, make sure the rider receives the reminder and knows what to expect. The rider should also have the dispatch number and confirmation details available.

– The Ride to the Polls team finds your polling location, provides the relevant polling hours, and confirms your ride and track.

– On Election Day, you get your driver’s name and vehicle, or your voucher.

For an explanation of the two transportation tracks, visit Private Driver or Uber Voucher: Which Ride to the Polls You Get in New Hampshire.

How to request your ride

On Election Day morning, you receive information about your assigned transportation.

For voters 55 and over, black car service confirmation includes the trained private driver’s first name and vehicle description. Compare both details with the person and vehicle that arrive. If the information does not match, stay out of the vehicle and call dispatch.

Voters receiving an Uber voucher should follow the confirmed voucher instructions and review the ride details before entering the vehicle.

Keep your phone nearby and check for calls or messages from dispatch. A driver may need help locating the correct entrance, confirming the pickup point, or communicating an approved change.

If you do not receive the expected confirmation, call 833-603-8683. An unidentified driver or vehicle should not be treated as part of Ride to the Polls.

What happens on Election Day morning?

Individual pickup windows will vary, but each trip follows the same basic sequence.

What does the Election Day ride timeline look like?

Be ready during the pickup window shown in your confirmation. Keep your coat, mobility equipment, phone, and other necessary belongings nearby.

If you live in a building with more than one entrance, wait at the pickup point included in your request. If the entrance is difficult to find, explain that to dispatch before Election Day.

When the vehicle arrives:

What should you do during your pickup window?

Start by checking your confirmation. Make sure you have the correct pickup window, address, and contact information.

Then:

What if your driver is late?

Call 833-603-8683 as soon as you know that the confirmed time no longer works.

Have this information ready:

What if you need to change your pickup time?

Call 833-603-8683 as soon as possible if you no longer need transportation. An early cancellation gives dispatch time to update the schedule.

Tell dispatch:

What if you need to cancel your ride?

A long line can affect your expected return time. Contact dispatch as soon as you realize you may not be ready at the planned time.

If you have a private driver, follow the return arrangement included in your confirmation. When the timing changes, call 833-603-8683 instead of assuming the driver knows where you are or how long the delay will last.

If you are using an Uber voucher, follow the approved instructions for the return trip. Contact dispatch if the delay affects the voucher or your confirmed arrangement.

Keep your phone available while you wait. If you do not carry a phone, discuss your return plan with dispatch before Election Day and write down the number you may need to call.

Ride to the Polls coordinates transportation. Check the New Hampshire voter information lookup for official polling-place information.

What if the line at the polls is long?

The Ride to the Polls team finds the polling location assigned to your address and provides the relevant polling hours when coordinating your trip. You may also confirm your polling place before Election Day through the official New Hampshire voter information resource.

If you learn that your polling place is different:

What if your polling place changes?

Call dispatch before the pickup if you will be leaving from a different address.

Changing from a front entrance to a side entrance may be simple, but the update still needs to reach the assigned driver. Moving the pickup to another home, building, or town may require a larger adjustment.

Tell dispatch:

What if your pickup address changes?

New Hampshire weather can affect road conditions, travel times, vehicle availability, and pickup windows. Keep your phone nearby for updates from dispatch.
