What happens after an Amherst voter makes one call?

Before contacting dispatch, confirm where the voter will be picked up, which polling place is assigned to the voter, and whether transportation home is required.

Start with three important details

Confirm Amherst’s Election Day destination

Arriving at the Souhegan High School campus

Transportation is provided through one of two tracks.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Door-to-door transportation for ages 55 and over</h3>

An Amherst voter who is 55 or older receives a private-driver ride. An Uber account and smartphone are not required for this option.

Dispatch confirms the pickup instructions and provides the assigned driver’s first name and vehicle description. The rider should compare both details before entering.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Uber vouchers for voters under 55</h3>

A voter under 55 receives an Uber voucher for the trip to and from the confirmed polling place. The rider should have access to the Uber app and follow the redemption instructions supplied by Ride to the Polls.

Check the pickup pin before ordering the vehicle. Amherst properties with long driveways or several entrances may not be represented accurately by a default map pin.

The <a href="https://www.tpaction.com/ride-to-the-polls-free-uber-vouchers-to-vote-in-new-hampshire/">Free Uber Vouchers to Vote in New Hampshire</a> page explains how this track works. You can also compare both options in <a href="https://www.tpaction.com/ride-to-the-polls-new-hampshire-private-driver-or-uber-voucher/">Private Driver or Uber Voucher</a>.

Choose the correct Amherst ride track

Amherst combines a historic village area, suburban developments, commercial properties, wooded roads, and homes set well back from the street. Add only the directions that help the driver identify the correct stopping point.
