Hudson has two voting wards, each with its own polling place. The Town of Hudson currently lists Hudson Memorial School for Ward One and Alvirne High School for Ward Two.

– Dispatch confirms your ride and your track (private driver or Uber voucher), along with your polling location and its hours.

– On Election Day, you get your driver’s name and vehicle, or your voucher.

Keep the confirmation where you can find it on November 3. Check that the pickup address, polling place, and contact number are correct. If something changes, contact dispatch with the updated information.

How to request your ride

A ride request is easier to process when the basic information is collected in one place. Before calling or opening the form, have these details ready:

What to have ready when you request

Hudson covers a mix of busy commercial roads, older neighborhoods, residential developments, and less concentrated areas. A pickup near Lowell Road may require different instructions from one near Robinson Pond, Bush Hill Road, or the Windham town line.

A clear pickup plan helps the rider and driver find each other without unnecessary back-and-forth communication.

Hudson pickup planning

Hudson voters who are 55 or older receive a free door-to-door Black car service ride with a trained private driver. This option removes the need to download an app, redeem a voucher, or request an Uber independently.

Tell dispatch if you need additional time to leave your home, use a walker or cane, or want the driver to look for a specific entrance. Providing that information when you request the ride gives dispatch a clearer picture of the pickup.

Before entering the vehicle, compare the driver’s name and vehicle information with your confirmation. If the details do not match, remain in a safe place and contact dispatch.

The private-driver track includes transportation to the assigned Hudson polling place and the return trip. Door-to-door rides for Hudson voters 55 and over

Hudson voters under 55 receive a free Uber voucher for transportation to and from their polling place. The voucher track lets the voter request the vehicle through the Uber app after receiving the Ride to the Polls confirmation and redemption information.

Check the pickup pin carefully. A pin dropped on the wrong side of a large property or along a nearby road can make it harder for the driver to find you. If you are at an apartment complex, school, shopping area, or another property with several entrances, select a safe and recognizable pickup point.

Confirm that the destination is Hudson Memorial School or Alvirne High School, as shown in your official voter lookup. Do not choose a polling place solely because it is closer to your home.

Your transportation plan should include both directions. When requesting a ride, make sure dispatch knows that you need to return to your Hudson pickup address after voting.

The time spent at a polling place can vary. Check your confirmation for the instructions that apply to your ride track. Keep your telephone nearby so you can receive updates, but silence it while voting if polling-place staff request that devices be put away.

Before leaving home, write down the Ride to the Polls contact information. A written copy is useful if your phone battery runs low or you need help finding the confirmation.

Planning your ride home

You may request a ride for someone else, including a parent, spouse, relative, or neighbor. The voter must know that the request is being made and agree to the transportation.

Provide the voter’s name, telephone number, pickup address, polling place, age track, preferred time, and mobility information. If you are the main contact, explain whether dispatch should call you, the voter, or both.

Two people at the same Hudson address should be listed together if they want to travel as companions. Dispatch can then review the request as a shared pickup instead of receiving two requests that appear unrelated.
