The voter only needs to sign up once. Ride to the Polls takes it from there by helping find the voter’s polling location, providing the relevant polling-location hours, confirming the transportation track, and arranging the trip to the polls and back home.

The service offers a white-glove voting experience that removes the hassle and uncertainty of Election Day transportation. Voters 55 and over are the primary audience and receive black car service, but free transportation is available to voters of every age through the two ride tracks.

What Does One Call Handle for a Somersworth Voter?

Somersworth has five wards, each with a different polling location. Confirm the voter’s destination before requesting transportation.

1. Call 833-603-8683 or use online request form with the voter’s name, telephone number, age, pickup address, ward, polling place, and return-trip needs.

2. Dispatch reviews the information, confirms the ride, and identifies the private-driver or Uber-voucher track.

3. On November 3, the voter receives the assigned driver and vehicle information or the confirmed voucher instructions.

Submitting the information begins the review. The trip is scheduled only after dispatch provides confirmation.

Door-to-door drivers for voters 55 and over

A Somersworth voter who is 55 or older receives a door-to-door ride with a trained private driver. An Uber account or smartphone is not required.

The confirmation identifies the driver and vehicle assigned to the trip. Compare those details with the person and vehicle that arrive before entering.

Before Election Day, check access to the Uber app and verify that the pickup pin marks the correct entrance. Follow the instructions supplied with the confirmed voucher.

How age shapes a Somersworth trip

Somersworth is compact, but downtown buildings, commercial properties, apartment communities, and streets near the state line require different pickup directions.

– For a downtown property, identify whether the rider will wait at the Main Street entrance, a side door, or a rear parking area.

– Near High Street or Main Street, select a driveway, parking lot, or passenger area where a vehicle can leave the traffic lane.

– At a Tri City Road business, provide the business name and a recognizable storefront or parking-lot landmark.

– Near the Maine border, check that both addresses identify Somersworth, New Hampshire.

– At an apartment building or senior community, include the property name, building number, entrance, buzzer instructions, and whether the rider will wait inside or outside.

Tell dispatch if a navigation app points to the wrong side of the property. Contact 833-603-8683 before moving the meeting point to another entrance or street.

Describe the Somersworth meeting point clearly

Include practical transportation information in the original request. Tell dispatch if the voter uses a wheelchair, walker, cane, or service animal, needs extra boarding time, or has a communication need.

For a wheelchair, describe whether it folds and whether the voter must remain seated in it during transportation. Name any caregiver, companion, or second voter who plans to travel.

Dispatch confirms what the assigned transportation can accommodate. The Wheelchair-Accessible Rides in New Hampshire page provides more information.

Mobility equipment and additional riders

A spouse, relative, caregiver, friend, or neighbor may arrange transportation with the voter’s knowledge. Use the rider’s age, pickup address, polling place, and transportation needs.

Tell dispatch whether updates should go to the voter, the person coordinating the request, or both. Before Election Day, make sure the rider knows the confirmed meeting point, pickup window, transportation track, destination, and return instructions.

Use How to Book a Ride for a Parent, Spouse, or Neighbor to gather the necessary information.

When someone else submits the request

Request the return trip when first contacting Ride to the Polls. Private-driver and Uber-voucher riders receive instructions for the track assigned to them.

At the polling place, note where passenger pickups are taking place. Keep 833-603-8683 available in case a longer-than-expected visit changes the return timing.

The Election Day Ride Timeline explains how to report delays, cancellations, address changes, and other Election Day updates.

Include the journey home from the start

Check the confirmed pickup address, entrance, polling destination, transportation track, timing, companion details, and return arrangement.

Private-driver riders should compare the arriving driver and vehicle with the confirmation. Uber-voucher riders should compare the information in the app with the arriving vehicle.

Call 833-603-8683 if the address, telephone number, ward, polling place, or rider information changes. Do not send a duplicate request unless dispatch asks for one.

Read the confirmation from beginning to end

Keep the voter’s telephone charged and remain available during the confirmed pickup window. Have mobility equipment, weather-appropriate clothing, and the ride information ready before the vehicle arrives.
