Ride to the Polls screens and trains every private driver before assigning that person to a voter. Screening helps the program review applicants, while training prepares approved drivers to follow the program’s safety, verification, privacy, accessibility, and dispatch procedures.

The exact screening steps that may be stated publicly still require client confirmation. The final page should identify any approved requirements involving:

Identity verification

Driver’s license review

Driving-record review

Vehicle information

Insurance verification

Background screening

Completion of Ride to the Polls training

Acceptance of driver conduct requirements

These steps should appear only after the client confirms the process and the language that may be published. The page should never claim that a specific check occurs unless it is part of the approved screening process.

Driver screening is one part of rider safety. Your own confirmation and pickup check are also important. Before entering a vehicle, compare the driver and vehicle with the information Ride to the Polls sent you.

What driver screening and training mean

Your confirmation includes the assigned driver’s first name and a description of the vehicle. Keep that information available on Election Day so you can compare it with the person and vehicle that arrive.

Your confirmation should give you enough information to answer two basic questions:

What your ride confirmation should include

Pause before getting into the vehicle. Compare what you see with the confirmation you received from Ride to the Polls.

What to check before entering the vehicle

Do not get into the vehicle if the driver or vehicle differs from your confirmation. Move to a place where you feel secure and call dispatch: Call Now: 833-603-8683.

What to do if the details do not match

– Call dispatch or submit the form at tpaction.com/ride with your name, phone, pickup address, and polling place.

– Dispatch confirms your ride and your track (private driver or Uber voucher), along with your polling location and its hours.

– On Election Day, you get your driver’s name and vehicle, or your voucher.

Use a phone number that you or a trusted contact will be able to answer before pickup. Dispatch may need to confirm details or communicate an approved change. One call handles everything: you sign up, and our team takes it from there.

If another person is requesting the ride for you, decide who should receive the confirmation. The rider must have the driver and vehicle information before the vehicle arrives.

How to request your ride

Ride to the Polls operates two free ride tracks in New Hampshire:

Private driver or Uber voucher

A driver needs enough information to complete the assigned trip. That does not mean the rider must share unrelated personal details.

Dispatch may use information such as your:

Keep your personal information private.

Once you have verified the driver and vehicle, keep the trip focused on reaching your confirmed polling place and returning safely.

A rider should be able to:

What to do during the ride

Ride to the Polls driver training covers rider safety, verification, privacy, accessibility and mobility support, dispatch communication, and what to do when something goes wrong. Drivers complete the training before receiving an assignment.

The public training page should explain approved expectations without revealing private screening information or internal security procedures. It should also use the same language as this page when describing the help drivers may provide and the limits of that assistance.

Drivers and applicants can review What Ride-to-the-Polls Driver Training Covers and What to Expect on Election Day.

The client must approve the final public wording on driver assistance, rider contact, candidate discussions, emergencies, and missed pickups before publication. Those rules should be consistent across the driver-safety, accessibility, and training pages.

What drivers are trained to expect

Contact Ride to the Polls if something happened before, during, or after the trip that dispatch should review.
