The voter signs up once, and the Ride to the Polls team handles the rest. The team finds the voter’s polling location, provides the relevant polling hours, and coordinates a white-glove ride to the polls and back home, removing the hassle and uncertainty from Election Day transportation.

Two quick checks help before you schedule: confirm your voter registration and make a plan to vote. Both are covered below, along with pickup notes for downtown Newport, Guild, Kelleyville and North Newport.

What Happens After One Newport Ride Request?

Which ride you get depends on your age. Newport voters who are 55 or older are picked up at home by a trained driver and taken to the polling place.

Newport voters under 55 receive a free Uber voucher instead. Newport is a rural county seat in the hills of Sullivan County, so scheduling a few days before November 3 gives dispatch time to arrange your voucher.

Many Newport households include voters on both sides of 55, such as a retired couple and a grown daughter who works in Claremont. One call to 833-603-8683 can cover everyone, and dispatch confirms each rider’s option.

Neither option costs a thing: the driver is free and the voucher is free.

The Town of Newport lists the Newport Community Center, 17 Meadow Road, Newport, NH 03773, in Sullivan County, as the polling place for the November 3, 2026 General Election. The same building, also called the LaValley Family Community Center, hosted the September 8, 2026 State Primary.

Check the official page before you book: look up your polling place on the NH Secretary of State voter lookup and the Town of Newport Elections & Voting page. If either names a different location for you, give dispatch that address.

Some Newport meetings are held elsewhere, including school sessions at the Newport Middle High School gym. November 3 voting is at the Community Center on Meadow Road, so make sure your ride request says so.

The guide find my polling place locations in New Hampshire explains how polling places are set statewide.

Ride booking and voter registration are separate tasks. Ride to the Polls schedules the ride; the Town of Newport and the State of New Hampshire manage voter registration.

Register to Vote is the first stop for voter registration information and resources. The NH Secretary of State voter lookup then shows whether you are registered and which polling place you are assigned.

Locally, the Newport Town Clerk’s office handles registration, and the Supervisors of the Checklist keep the town’s voter list. The town’s Elections & Voting page lists its election calendar and local registration information.

That calendar already runs into 2027, so the same page is the place to look up future Newport voting dates and registration sessions once November 3 has passed.

Check your registration if you moved to Newport from Claremont, Sunapee, Croydon or elsewhere, moved within town, changed your name, or are voting for the first time. What you need depends on your situation and state law, so check the official page before Election Day.

For background, see voting requirements and rules in New Hampshire, then confirm the details with the official source.

Dispatch does not handle registration questions, and a confirmed ride is not proof of registration. Ask the Newport Town Clerk or the Secretary of State instead.

A plan to vote settles when you will go, how you will get there and what you will bring. Make a plan to vote in a few minutes and let your Ride to the Polls booking cover the travel.

If a work shift, a class or an appointment rules out part of November 3, tell dispatch when you schedule.

Keep your confirmation, the Meadow Road address and the dispatch number together, on your phone or on the fridge.

If you and a housemate both need rides, you can book them in the same call. Give each person’s name and phone number so dispatch confirms both seats.

Call 833-603-8683 or open Request Your Free Ride Online and share your name, phone number, Newport pickup address and polling place.

Dispatch confirms, then lets you know whether your ride is a private driver or an Uber voucher.

By November 3, your driver’s name and vehicle, or your voucher, will be with you.

If you have not heard back, or your address, phone number or polling place changes, call 833-603-8683 again or update the request at Request Your Free Ride Online.

Scheduling a Newport ride: three steps

Downtown Newport grew up where the Sugar River meets its South Branch, and its Main Street still has brick storefronts, clock towers and church steeples. About 4,700 of the town’s 6,299 residents lived in the central village area in 2020.

Many downtown homes are apartments above storefronts or older houses divided into units. Give your unit number and the door you use, especially if the entrance is on a side street or behind the building.

Routes 10, 11 and 103 all meet in Newport. If you live on one of them, give your house number rather than the name of a business on the corner.

The Sugar River Trail begins on Belknap Avenue near North Meadow Road, a few blocks from downtown. It is a handy landmark for describing homes on that side of the village.

A relative, caregiver or neighbor can call 833-603-8683 for you. The caller should give your name, phone number, Newport pickup address and polling place, and share the confirmation with you.

A son in Claremont scheduling a ride for his father in Guild should give his father’s Newport address, the Guild ZIP code and the phone his father answers.

Scheduling a ride for another Newport voter

Early that week, check that your confirmation shows the right pickup address and phone number, and call 833-603-8683 if anything needs fixing.

Look up your registration and polling place on the SOS lookup once more. Why polling place information changes in New Hampshire explains why that final check matters.

When November 3 comes, be ready at the entrance you gave dispatch. Newport sits high in the hills, and early November mornings there can be dark and frosty, so leave a porch light on.

If you no longer need your ride, call 833-603-8683 so the seat can go to another Newport voter.
