Yes. Ride to the Polls accepts same-day requests, subject to available black car drivers and Uber vouchers.

Call 833-603-8683 as soon as you know you need transportation. A same-day request is easier to review when dispatch receives complete information the first time.

Have these details ready:

Your full name

A working phone number

Your pickup address

Any information you have about your polling place

Any wheelchair, walker, cane, service animal, or mobility need

Whether another person will travel with you

Whether you also need transportation home

Calling is the fastest way to explain an urgent transportation need. You may also submit the online request form, but keep your phone available in case dispatch needs additional information.

Submitting a request starts the process. Your transportation is confirmed only after dispatch tells you that a black car driver or Uber voucher has been assigned.

– The team helps find your polling location and relevant hours, confirms your ride, and assigns your transportation track.

– On Election Day, you receive your black car driver’s name and vehicle information or your Uber voucher.

How to request your ride

Dispatch reviews the information provided with each request and checks the transportation available near the rider. Location, timing, current demand, available private drivers, Uber availability, and rider needs may all affect what can be arranged.

How does a same-day request work?

Ride to the Polls operates two free transportation tracks in New Hampshire.

Voters 55 and over receive a door-to-door ride with a trained private driver. Voters under 55 receive a free Uber voucher for transportation to and from their polling place.

Same-day availability depends on the transportation available near you when you call. Dispatch may review:

Which same-day ride might you receive?

Wait times depend on where you are, when you call and which drivers are free. Dispatch gives you an estimate on the call.

When you contact dispatch, ask:

How long will you wait?

Dispatch will review the transportation available for your location. Depending on your age, location, rider needs, and current capacity, dispatch may consider the other Ride to the Polls track.

A black car driver may not be immediately available in every part of New Hampshire. Rural distance, current assignments, traffic, and the number of same-day requests can affect capacity.

If dispatch cannot assign a black car driver, ask whether an Uber voucher is available for your trip. Wait for dispatch to confirm the option before making plans around it.

Do not accept transportation from someone simply because that person says they are connected with Ride to the Polls. If a different driver or vehicle is assigned, dispatch should provide updated confirmation.

What if no private driver is available?

An Uber voucher allows you to request transportation through the Uber app. The availability of nearby Uber drivers can vary by location and time.

If no driver accepts:

Prepare to leave while dispatch reviews your request. Being ready can prevent another delay if transportation becomes available.

What should you do while waiting?

Call dispatch immediately if you no longer need transportation, need a different pickup time, or must use another pickup address.

Provide:

What if your plans change?

A long line or another delay at the polling place can affect your transportation home. Contact dispatch as soon as you realize that you may not be ready at the expected time.

Keep your phone available and follow the return instructions provided with your ride. Do not assume that the assigned driver knows you have been delayed.

If another person requested the ride on your behalf, let that person know about the delay when appropriate.

Ride to the Polls coordinates transportation. Check official New Hampshire election resources for polling-place procedures, voting information, and local schedules.

What if voting takes longer than expected?

When you sign up, provide your name, phone number, and pickup address. The Ride to the Polls team will help find your polling location and provide the relevant polling location hours as part of the transportation process.
