One call begins the white-glove experience. The voter signs up, and the Ride to the Polls team takes it from there by finding the voter’s polling location, providing the relevant polling hours, and coordinating transportation to and from the polls.

The two tracks are laid out side by side in Which Ride You Get. For the details of each, see door-to-door rides for voters 55 and over and free Uber vouchers for voters under 55.

What Happens After a Swanzey Voter Calls?

Your age decides which ride you get. If you are 55 or older, a trained driver comes to your door anywhere Ride to the Polls covers in Swanzey and drives you to your polling place.

If you are under 55, you get a free Uber voucher for your trip to vote. Swanzey spreads across five villages and a lot of open country, so booking early gives dispatch time to set up your voucher before November 3.

Plenty of Swanzey homes have voters on both sides of that line. If you and a younger family member both need rides, mention both of you when you call 833-603-8683, and dispatch will confirm each person’s track separately.

Both rides are free. You pay no fare for the driver, and the voucher costs you nothing.

Which Swanzey Voters Get a Driver and Which Get a Voucher

Swanzey’s polling place in recent elections has been Monadnock Regional High School, 600 Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey, NH 03431, in Cheshire County. It sits in Swanzey Center on NH Route 32, within a short walk of Town Hall and the Mt. Caesar Union Library.

Check the official page before you book: look up your November 3 polling place with the NH Secretary of State voter lookup and the Swanzey Town Clerk election page. If either lists a different location, give dispatch that address.

Because the polling place is in Swanzey Center, voters in the outer villages have the longest trips. That is the main reason Swanzey riders in West Swanzey, East Swanzey and Westport should book first.

Voting at Monadnock Regional High School, Cheshire County

Swanzey Center has been the town’s civic hub since colonial days. Town Hall, the library, the grange hall, a church, the town cemetery, schools and the school district office all sit within about a quarter mile of one another along Old Homestead Highway.

That makes the center easy to find, but it also means several public buildings close together. A school campus can have more than one entrance, so if you know which door you use when you vote, tell dispatch when you book.

The NH Route 32 and Sawyers Crossing Road intersection near the center was the subject of a state road project, so directions written years ago may not match the road today. Give your own street address and let the driver navigate from there.

Call 833-603-8683 or use the form at Request Your Free Ride Online, giving your name, phone number, Swanzey pickup address and polling place.

Dispatch confirms your booking and whether you ride with a private driver or use an Uber voucher.

On Election Day, you get your driver’s name and vehicle, or your voucher.

A ride booking and voter registration are separate things. For registration help, go to Register to Vote or the Swanzey Town Clerk election page, and check the official page for current rules.

Three Steps to Book a Swanzey Ride

Swanzey covers about 45 square miles, with Swanzey Center plus the villages of West Swanzey, East Swanzey, North Swanzey and Westport. Routes 10, 12 and 32 cross the town, so a ride from an outlying village can take longer than the map suggests.

West Swanzey is the largest village, with about 1,280 residents on both banks of the Ashuelot River. Main Street crosses the river on the 1832 Thompson Covered Bridge, and Route 10 runs along the west side of the village. Tell dispatch which side of the river your home is on.

East Swanzey lies along the South Branch of the Ashuelot River, between Route 32 to the west and Route 12 to the northeast. Homes there are more spread out, so give the nearest crossroad along with your address.

North Swanzey borders Keene and is home to Dillant–Hopkins Airport, which makes a handy landmark when describing where your road is. Westport sits south of West Swanzey, reached from Route 10 by Westport Village Road near the Slate Covered Bridge.

Getting to Swanzey Center From Each Village

Swanzey addresses use three ZIP codes: 03446 for most of town, 03469 for West Swanzey, and 03431, shared with Keene, for North Swanzey. If your mailing address reads “Keene,” tell dispatch your home is in North Swanzey so the pickup lands in the right town.

Some map apps may label a North Swanzey home as Keene for the same reason. Saying the village name when you call avoids a mix-up before it starts.

Three ZIP Codes, One Town

Away from the villages, much of Swanzey is low-density farm, forest and open land. Homes can sit at the end of long driveways or on roads where house numbers are hard to spot from a car.

Add a landmark to your request: the road you turn off, a mailbox, a barn or a sign at the end of the drive. Swanzey has four historic covered bridges, the Thompson, Slate, Sawyers Crossing and Carleton bridges, so if your usual directions mention one, include it.

Homes on Swanzey Lake Road, off Old Homestead Highway, and on the higher ground toward Franklin Mountain on the Winchester line can be some of the hardest to find. Give extra detail if you live out that way.

If your mailing address is different from where you will be picked up, give dispatch the physical address. Dispatch confirms coverage for your address when you book, so request early if you live on an outlying road.

Farm Roads, Long Driveways and Covered Bridge Crossings

A short list saves time on the phone: your village, your house number and road, the ZIP code, the nearest crossroad and one landmark. If you live in West Swanzey, add which side of the river you are on.

Have your polling place from the SOS lookup in front of you, plus a phone number you will answer in the days before November 3.

What to Have Ready When You Call About a Swanzey Address

A son, daughter, spouse, caregiver or neighbor can call 833-603-8683 for you. They should give your name, phone number, pickup address and polling place, and tell you once dispatch confirms the ride. Book for Someone Else explains how it works.

If the person booking lives in another village, or in Keene, they should give your address and directions, not their own. A caller in Keene arranging a ride for a parent in Westport should describe the Westport road.

When a Family Member Books for a Swanzey Voter

A few days ahead, check that your confirmation shows the right pickup address and phone number, and call 833-603-8683 if anything has changed. Election Day explains what happens if a driver runs late or plans change on the day.

On the morning, wait by the door you described. Early November in the Monadnock Region can mean dark, foggy mornings along the river, so switch on a porch light to help the driver find your house.

Polling places can move between elections, so run the SOS lookup again that week. Why polling place information changes in New Hampshire explains why.
