Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026

This bill provides FY2026 continuing appropriations to federal agencies through November 21, 2025, or until the relevant appropriations act is passed, preventing a government shutdown. It maintains FY2025 funding levels with some exceptions, offering flexibility and additional funds for programs, including security for federal officials. It also authorizes D.C. to spend local FY2026 funds and extends expiring programs, such as public health, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans’ programs, U.S. Grain Standards Act, DHS cybersecurity, unmanned aircraft threat mitigation, human trafficking penalties, CFTC whistleblower program, and the Defense Production Act.1
