The bill also sets deadlines for title status reports, requires notification if processing is delayed, gives tribes and federal agencies read-only access to the BIA’s trust asset system, directs the Government Accountability Office to study digitizing mortgage records, and creates a Realty Ombudsman position within the BIA to help resolve issues with real estate transactions on Indian land.
