HB2670
Arizona Fetal Development Education Act
Date of Vote: February 25, 2025
Chamber of Origin: HouseHouse Bill 2670 amends Arizona's education statutes to require that health education for students in grades seven and eight includes comprehensive instruction on fetal development. This instruction must cover the human reproductive process, pregnancy, infertility, and the growth of an unborn child during each trimester. The state board of education may also extend this requirement to grades one through six and nine through twelve, ensuring age-appropriate content. Parents have the right to request that their child be excused from this instruction, and schools must inform parents about the curriculum and their opt-out options.1
