Right‑to‑Know Records Protection Act

SB686 strengthens Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law by making it a felony to intentionally tamper with public records that are part of an active information request or appeal. It upgrades the offense from a misdemeanor to a third-degree felony if the intent is to defraud or cause harm. The law takes effect 60 days after passage to allow time for compliance and awareness.1
